CHICAGO– The Boston Breakers’ Alyssa Naeher, , Stephanie Cox, Amy LePeilbet, Kristine Lilly, Lauren Cheney are among the 30 players named to a preliminary U.S. Women’s National Team roster for two matches against China, taking place on Oct. 2 at the Kennesaw State University Soccer Stadium in Kennesaw, Ga. (6 p.m. ET), and on Oct. 6 at PPL Park in Chester, Pa. (7 p.m. ET on ESPN2).

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Providence College captured the inaugural Ocean State Classic as it played Brown to a 0-0 double overtime tie, but posted a 5-4 edge in a penalty kick shootout Monday afternoon at Stevenson Field. The match officially is recorded a draw as both teams moved to 1-0-1 on the season.

ALBANY, N.Y. - Despite outshooting Albany 17-9, the UMass women dropped its first road match of the season, 1-0, on Monday afternoon. The setback leaves the Minutewomen at 1-2 on the year, while the Great Danes improve 3-2 after picking up their third straight victory.
