REV FORWARD COMBO CLICKS
Cristman-Twellman strike force

The Revolution might have revealed an effective strike force with Adam Cristman combining with Taylor Twellman. Cristman scored once and Twellman had four goals in a 7-0 win over AC Inter Playa del Carmen in Mexico Tuesday night.

“Taylor and Adam up front, I thought, worked great as a pair," Revolution coach Steve Nicol said. "Just in general, we were happy with what we saw. Obviously, we still have some things that need to be ironed out, but (this game) doesn’t bring to bear any major things that need to get done.

“I think it was (Twellman’s) second goal, it was just typical of someone who wants to score a goal. He had to hold off two guys, (the ball) bounced away from him. He never gave up; he just wants to put it in the back of the net.”

Cristman replaced Pat Noonan (groin), who returned to Boton along with central defender Michael Parkhurst (dislocated shoulder).

“I thought it was great and I thought we played well," Nicol said. "We made some decent passes, we scored some goals. Really, of all the goals we got, we were only given one, which was a bad clearance by the goalkeeper. All the other goals we worked hard for and did some good stuff creating them. And there were good finishes.”
