Stanford freshman Sydney Payne scored her first collegiate goal to open the scoring and Christen Press provided the score that stood up as the eventual winner in No. 2 Stanford's 2-1 victory over host Boston University on Sunday night at Nickerson Field.

BU women fall on late goal by SC
BOSTON – Lolly Holland scored in the 82nd minute to give South Carolina a 1-0 win over Boston University at Nickerson Field Friday.
Holland slid onto a ball from Kayla Grimsley and slotted it into the lower right side of the net for the winner.
