ODU's Hopkinson Player of the Week
Old Dominion University's junior forward Tim Hopkinson has been selected as the Soccer News Net Menís College Player of the Week for the week ending September 9.

The native of Nottingham, England scored four goals and assisted on four others in the Monarchsí sweep of their own Stihl Soccer Classic.
He scored three times and set up two other goals in ODU's 6-0 win over Seton Hall on Friday, then had a goal and a pair of assists in a 3-2 win over Winthrop on Sunday.
On Friday, after a scoreless first half, Hopkinson had a hand in four straight goals. Three minutes into the second half, Hopkinson got a pass from Gideon Asante for a 1-0 lead. Hopkinson scored again five minutes later on a pass from Jordan LeBlanc off a free kick, then Hopkinson assisted on the next two goals, by Ivan Military and Chris Harmon. Hopkinson finished the hat trick in the 78th minute.
On Sunday, Hopkinson put the Monarchs on the board first, with a goal in the 23rd minute, converting on a pass into the 18-yard box. He set up Chris Harmon's goal in the 78th minute with a quick pass in the middle of the field, then started a fast break in the 87th minute that lead to Asante's game-winning goal.
