Vermont 'keeper Conor Leland

Vermont Catamounts goalkeeper Conor Leland has been selected as the New England Soccer News Men’s College Player of the Week for the Week ending September 9.

Leland made a career-high six saves to help Vermont post a 2-0 victory over Central Connecticut State on the first day of the 2012 Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Windjammer Classic at Virtue Field.

On Sunday, Leland earned his second straight shutout with three stops for Vermont. Leland was named the MVP of the tournament after posting nine saves for the two games in his first two career starts at UVM.
