AMERICA EAST HONOR
Leland named co-Player of the Week
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Vermont's Conor Leland was named the America East Men's Soccer Co-Player of the Week.
Leland, who was also named New England Soccer News Player of the Week, picked up his first two career shutouts as Vermont went unbeaten in its own Morgan Stanley Smith Barney Windjammer Classic. UVM shared the tournament title with New Hampshire based on a tie in points (3) and goal differential (2).
Leland was named MVP of the tournament as he held opponents scoreless over 190 minutes. He made six saves in a 2-0 victory over Central Connecticut (CatamounTV Highlights) on Friday and added three stops in a double-overtime 0-0 draw against Niagara (CatamounTV Highlights) on Sunday.
Leland has allowed just one goal in 290 minutes of action this season and owns a .933 save percentage. He ranks second among the America East goalkeepers in goals against average and save percentage.
Leland is the second Catamount to earn an America East weekly honor, joining teammate Scott Kisling.
