EDMONTON, Alberta--- - Calum Mallace scored in the 37th minute and Simone Bracallelo added the game winning goal in the 62nd minute to lead Minnesota United FC to a 2-1 victory over FC Edmonton Sunday afternoon at Clarke Stadium.

Daryl Fordyce scored during second half stoppage time for FC Edmonton (1-5-2, 8pts).

The win moved United (3-2-3, 11pts) into a tie for 3rd with 11 points in the Fall NASL standings. The New York Cosmos (4-3-1, 15pts) currently lead the NASL, one point ahead of the Tampa Bay Rowdies (3-5-0, 14pts) and four points ahead of United, Carolina RailHawks (3-2-3, 11pts) and Fort Lauderdale Strikers (3-2-3, 11pts).

It took 37 minutes for the teams to finally break the deadlock when Mallace volleyed a short clearance from just outside the Eddies 18-yard box that dipped perfectly to the left, beating keeper Lance Parker.

In the 63rd minute Minnesota doubled their lead when Bracalello’s shot slipped right through Parker and into the net.

The Eddies Daryl Fordyce snuck in a last minute volley to make it 2-1 as the final whistle was blown.
