PHILADELPHIA – The New England Revolution have traded veteran defender Chris Albright to the New York Red Bulls for their second and third round picks in Thursday's MLS SuperDraft, according to reliable league sources.

Albright, a Philadelphia, Pa. native who turned 31 today, is considered one of the more reliable defenders in the league.

Considering one of the best college attackers at the University of Virginia, Albright began playing in MLS with D.C. United from 1999-2001 before he was traded to the Los Angeles Galaxy in 2002. He was dealt to New England in 2008.

With the trade completed, the Revolution now holds five selections in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, which is being held today at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, beginning at 2 p.m. ET. The Revs have one selection in the first round (ninth overall), two in the second round (25th and 31st overall), one in the third round (48th overall) and one in the fourth round (57th overall).
