ORLANDO, Fla.—The New England Revolution took some target practice against a team of Florida College All-Stars on Thursday, pummeling their makeshift opposition 6-0 in a scrimmage at the University of Central Florida.

The kickaround closed out the Revs’ Florida training camp. They will return to Boston for a few days before closing out their preseason preparations in North Carolina.

In contrast to Tuesday’s 2-0 scrimmage loss to FC Dallas, the Revolution came out of the gate against the All-Stars firing on all cylinders. Although Shalrie Joseph’s game-winning penalty kick did not come until the 39th minute, the frontline pairing of Kheli Dube and rookie Zack Schilawski put the collegians on their heels early. However, it was New England’s substitute-filled second-half lineup that turned the game into a rout.

Sainey Nyassi left his defender flat-footed and upped the Revs’ lead to 2-0 from a tough angle in the 59th minute. Four minutes later, he set the table for Schilawski, who one-touched New England to a 3-0 advantage.

Dube got on the board with an easy touch in the 68th minute, after the All-Stars defense shifted to cover Joseph and Schilawski breaking into the box.

The Revs capped the lopsided win with two unassisted goals in the final six minutes of the game. Kenny Mansally made the score 5-0 with a jaw-dropping 25-yard shot, and defender Emmanuel Osei recorded a rare goal off a corner kick in the 86th.

Cory Gibbs, acquired from Colorado during the offseason, came off the injured list to start at centerback. Bobby Shuttleworth had an uneventful day in the New England goal.
