CHICAGO ---Kristine Lilly, the most capped player in the history of soccer has been called back to the national team after nearly a two year layoff from international play. Lilly, who was an all-star for the Boston Breakers last season, missed the 2008 Olympics and the lead up to it while she was pregnant. She had not been called to the team since the end of 2008 when she played briefly in a pair of victory tour matches.

AMSTERDAM -- For 87 minutes Wednesday, the United States had little reason to believe it had a chance to do anything offensively, let alone put a decent shot on goal against the Netherlands.
