FIFA slaps Andrade with with two-match suspension

MANCHESTER -- Colombian forward Lady Andrade was award a two-game suspension by the FIFA disciplinary committee on Monday for her "sucker punch" that left U.S. striker Abby Wambach with a black eye in the 3-0 win on Saturday.

That meant Andrade won't play against France in its Group G finale at Old Trafford on Tuesday and in the quarterfinals if the South Americans advance that far.

Wambach claimed Andrade had "sucker punched" her and wanted a ban although the U.S. did not not file a formal complaint.

The U.S. had no comment on FIFA's decision.
