New England Soccer News teams with Rhode Island Project GOAL
Rhode Island Project GOAL has been selected as an official charity partner of New England Soccer News.
|Project GOAL participants show off their soccer skills.
Project GOAL (Greater Opportunity for Athletes to Learn), is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization that operates after-school programs for children from Providence, Pawtucket, and Central Falls. The students are selected for their passion for soccer and academic potential.
Project GOAL fills the gap created by major cuts in after-school programming and activities by combining after-school schoolwork periods and soccer training. Project GOAL’s mission is to leverage the development of New England’s disadvantaged inner city youth through after-school tutoring, health education, and soccer-related programs.
"Selecting Project GOAL as the charitable partner for New England Soccer News fits in with our overall aim to not only cover soccer in the market from top to bottom, but to have an impact on the soccer community in other ways," said Sports Vue Interactive CEO and New England Soccer News Executive Editor Charles Cuttone.
As part of the partnership, Project GOAL will have visibility on New England Soccer News through links, advertising, content and possible promotional programs to assist in fundraising efforts.
“Project GOAL is excited about partnering with New England Soccer News and the Sports Vue Interactive group of websites dedicated to informing the soccer community", said Darius Shirzadi, founder and Executive Director of Project GOAL. "We look forward to having New England Soccer News tell our story and promote Project GOAL’s events, as we continue our success using soccer to open up opportunities for urban youth in New England.”
