REVS ADVANCE
U17/18s win group at Development Academy Playoffs

The New England Revolution U17/18s advanced to the US Soccer Development Academy Finals week by winning Group 6 with a win and two ties during the Playoffs at FC Dallas Sports Park in Frisco, Tex.

The Revs opened the week with a 1-1 tie with the Dallas Texas. Michael Klodzinski staked Dallas to the lead in the 7th minute, but Daniel Apajee tied it up for the Revs in the 35th.

A 1-1 tie with the San Jose Earthquakes came on Tuesday, this time with the Revs getting the 42nd minute lead on a Will Szostkiewicz goal. The Quakes tied it up in the 61st on a goal by Tren Biswell.

The Revs clinched the group with Thursday's 4-2 win over the LA Galaxy, which came on the strength of three goals by Dominik Machado (16' 59' 74' ). Peguy Ngatcha opened the Revolution's coring in the 8th minute. The Galaxy got back in it on second half goals by Justin Dhillon (65') and Raul Mendiola (80')

FC Bolts Celtic U15/16s opened Development Academy Playoff week with a 4-2 win over D.C. United, but fell to Group 3 winner Solar Chelsea 2-1, giving up a pair of goals in a two minute span to Alan Winn. Mohamed Kenawy pulled one back in the 40th minute, but the Bolts never found the equalizer.

The Bolts finished out the week with a 3-3 tie against Chicago Magic PSG with goals coming from Harrison Swartz (50' ), Kenawy (70' ) and Dan Casey (80')

Oakwood SC U15/16s finished at the bottom of Group 8, with two losses and a tie. The opened the week with a 1-0 loss to group winner Texans SC Houston, the played to a 1-1 tie with South Carolina United Battery Academy before closing out the week with a 3-1 loss to Chivas USA.

The teams that finished in first place in their respective groups qualified for 2013 Finals Week from July 14-20 in Houston, Texas.
